BT have identified telephone kiosks which are no longer used by the public and are being decommissioned. The Parish Council has decided to adopt the kiosk at Bilstone to prevent it being lost as a feature. The kiosk is of type K6, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1935.
The kiosk in Congerstone was at risk of decommissioning but has been reprieved as it is a listed structure in the Congerstone conservation area.
